Jay and Deb Dixon - About Us

Jay and Deb operate Dixon Adventures from their off-the-grid solar home they have built together. They are nestled high in the Sapphire Mountains overlooking the majestic Bitterroot Mountains and Valley. Living this rugged lifestyle, they are fulfilling their dreams of running a business based on their passion for the outdoors while raising their two young sons. This is not just a way to make a living to them, it is a lifestyle.

Jay holds a college degree in environmental geology with an emphasis in groundwater and fisheries. His passion for fishing was evident at a very young age. Jay’s Mom and Dad say that they couldn’t pass even the smallest piece of water with out him asking if fish live in there. Flyfishing since the age of 6 and starting to tie flies soon after, it was only natural for Jay to venture into the world of guiding.

Acquiring culinary experience from working at lodges and ranches in the Adirondacks of New York, Colorado, Alaska , and Montana, Deb is now a stay at home mom who enjoys adding the homemade touch to Jay’s lunches. While keeping her degree in elementary education in her back pocket she has enjoyed exploring the Rocky Mountains mainly skiing, mountain biking and hiking. That is, until she met Jay, when his sometimes referred to as ‘demented’ passion put fishing on her list of favorite things to do.

As a couple, Jay and Deb have enjoyed many outdoor experiences together. Their travels have taken them from the tropical saltwaters of the Gulf of Mexico and Hawaii, to Alaska, the Adirondacks, and the Rockies. Jay and Deb have a great appreciation for the outdoors, and love experiencing the natural wonders together. We invite you to Montana to join us on a DIXON ADVENTURE!
